Hong Kong High Talent Gauang Plan updated list of eligible universities, add University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The Hong Kong government announced today (December 27) that the updated list of eligible universities under the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS) will take effect on January 1, 2025. The QMAS aims to attract three categories of talents: Category A: Individuals with an annual income of HK$2.5 million or above in the year immediately preceding the application; Category B: Individuals who have obtained a full-time Bachelor's degree from a university/college on the comprehensive list (eligible universities/colleges) and have accumulated at least three years of work experience in the five years immediately preceding the application; or Category C: Individuals who have obtained a full-time Bachelor's degree from an eligible university/college in the five years immediately preceding the application, but have less than three years of work experience. The update of the comprehensive list reflects the top 100 universities/colleges listed in the past five years in four world university rankings (i.e. Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, U.S. News & World Report Global Best Universities Rankings, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Academic Ranking of World Universities), as well as changes in the top five universities/colleges specializing in hotel courses in the "Hospitality and Leisure Management" category in the QS World University Rankings over the past five years. Furthermore, as of November 1 this year, the comprehensive list also includes specialized colleges listed in the top five in the QS World University Rankings in the "Arts and Design" category over the past five years, as well as mainland Chinese universities ranked in the top 20 in the "Shanghai Jiao Tong University China University Rankings" over the past five years. According to the comprehensive list: The following universities have been removed: 1. University of Paris-Sud (Paris 11) 2. Ecole Normale Superieure - Paris 3. Radboud University (Netherlands) 4. London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (Individuals graduating from these four universities with a Bachelor's degree are no longer eligible for categories B and C of the scheme effective January 1, 2025) The following universities have been added: 1. Pontificia Universidad Catlica de Chile 2. University of Chinese Academy of Sciences 3. King Saud University 4. Cesar Ritz Colleges Switzerland 5. University of Massachusetts
