The National Immigration Administration announced on December 17 that the transit visa-free stay for foreigners in China will be extended to 240 hours (10 days), and 21 new ports of entry will be added for transit visa-free personnel, further expanding the stay area. After the announcement, many foreign tourists have shown interest in and made reservations for inbound flights, hotels, and other products through TONGCHENGTRAVEL (00780) and its international travel booking platform HopeGoo. According to TONGCHENGTRAVEL data, within one hour of the announcement, the search volume for domestic hotels and inbound flights by overseas tourists increased by 87% compared to the same period the previous day. The New Year has a high appeal to foreign tourists, with hotel bookings for stays around New Year's Day by overseas tourists increasing by over 5 times compared to the same period the previous day. The research institute of TONGCHENG believes that the extension of the transit visa-free policy and the expansion of activities will attract more eligible foreigners to travel to China through transit visa-free, further promoting growth in China's inbound tourism market. The newly added port cities of Taiyuan, Yangzhou, Huangshan, Zhangjiajie, etc., are all famous cultural and tourist cities in China. The opening of these ports will not only stimulate local inbound tourism market growth, but also promote international cultural exchange, allowing more foreign tourists to experience Chinese culture in depth.
