Allianz Investment: Appoints Xue Yonghui as the new Chief Investment Officer of Asia-Pacific Equities, will officially take office in January 2025.

Allianz Investment announced the appointment of Xue Yonghui as the new Chief Investment Officer for Equities in the Asia-Pacific region, officially taking office in January 2025. He will be responsible for leading the outstanding equity team in the region, taking over from Chen Zhiqiang, who has served at Allianz Investment for decades and is nearing retirement.
Xue Yonghui has over 30 years of experience in the asset management industry, having led investment teams in various locations in the Asia-Pacific region, managed various types of Asian equity portfolios, and successfully promoted the growth of equity business in the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining Allianz Investment, Xue Yonghui served as the Chief Investment Officer at Hang Seng Investment Management since January 2019. He has held important positions at Baillie Gifford Asset Management as the Chief Investment Officer for Asia and head of the Asia Equity Department, and at Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong) as the Chief Investment Officer for the Asia-Pacific region and head of Asia-Pacific investment strategy, among other key roles. He also worked as a Senior Investment Manager in Hong Kong and China at Schroders Investment Management.
Virginie Maisonneuve, Chief Investment Officer for Global Equities at Allianz Investment, stated that Chen Zhiqiang played a crucial role in establishing the equity business in the Asia-Pacific region and expanding into new asset classes, especially Chinese A-shares and Indian stocks. She thanked him for his dedicated contributions and wished him all the best in retirement. She also expressed anticipation for Xue Yonghui's arrival, believing that his wealth of knowledge and professional experience will further drive the growth of the Asia-Pacific equity business.
