China Southern Airlines (01055) announced that in October 2024, the group's passenger transport capacity (measured in available seat kilometers) increased by 8.73% year-on-year, with domestic, regional, and international capacities increasing by 0.18%, 9.72%, and 46.28% respectively. Passenger traffic (measured in revenue passenger kilometers) increased by 16.20% year-on-year, with domestic, regional, and international traffic increasing by 7.02%, 24.59%, and 58.10% respectively. The passenger load factor was 86.72%, up by 5.57 percentage points year-on-year, with domestic, regional, and international load factors increasing by 5.60, 9.52, and 6.32 percentage points respectively.
In terms of cargo, the group's cargo transport capacity (measured in available ton kilometers for freight and mail) increased by 1.97% year-on-year in October 2024. Cargo and mail traffic (measured in revenue ton kilometers for freight and mail) increased by 6.67%, with a cargo and mail load factor of 51.96%, up by 2.29 percentage points.
In October 2024, the group added new major routes including Chongqing-Changsha-Fuzhou-Changsha-Chongqing (four times per week), Haikou-Zhengzhou-Changchun-Zhengzhou-Haikou, and Harbin-Wuhan-Kunming-Wuhan-Harbin (all seven times per week).
In October 2024, the group introduced 8 aircrafts (including 2 B737-8 aircrafts, 2 A321NEO aircrafts, 2 ARJ21 aircrafts, 1 A319NEO aircraft, and 1 C919 aircraft) and retired 1 A319 aircraft. As of the end of October 2024, the group operated a total of 920 transport aircraft.
