Hong Kong Investment Funds Association: Appoints Wu Weiguang as Honorary Advisor to Strengthen the Association's Connections with Mainland China

The Hong Kong Investment Funds Association announced the appointment of Pu Weiguang as Honorary Adviser, effective yesterday (12th). This newly established position aims to provide advice on the goals and strategies of the association, as well as strengthen the connection between the investment funds association and mainland China. Pu Weiguang will provide guidance and recommendations on regulatory matters related to the Hong Kong fund management industry. He will serve until the end of the current term of the association's Executive Committee in August next year.
Pu Weiguang currently serves as an independent non-executive director of Citigroup Hong Kong and China Securities Co., Ltd., and is also a member of the Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee. He has previously served as Executive Director of the Hong Kong Insurance Authority, Senior Director of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, a member of the International Advisory Council of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, and the Chairman of the Committee on Market Intermediaries under the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
The Chairman of the Investment Funds Association, Yu Zhensheng, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Pu Weiguang for being the association's first Honorary Adviser. His extensive experience in financial market regulation, as well as his in-depth understanding of the regulatory environment in Hong Kong and mainland China, will greatly benefit the association in continuously strengthening Hong Kong's position as an international fund management center and a super connector between mainland China and the global market.
