On September 27, Yu Weining, a statistician from the Industrial Division of the National Bureau of Statistics, interpreted the profit data of industrial enterprises. From January to August, the profits of large-scale industrial enterprises continued to grow. Influenced by factors such as insufficient market effective demand and the impact of natural disasters such as high temperatures, heavy rains, and floods in certain areas, as well as the significantly higher base in August compared to July, the profit growth rate of large-scale industrial enterprises from January to August has slightly slowed down but still maintained a growth momentum since the beginning of the year. Industries representing new driving forces, such as high-tech manufacturing, continued to grow rapidly, and the high-quality development of the industrial economy steadily progressed. Overall, profits of large-scale industrial enterprises continued to grow, the supporting role of new industrial driving forces was evident, but it is also necessary to note that domestic consumption demand remains weak, the external environment is complex and ever-changing, and the foundation for the recovery of industrial enterprise profitability still needs to be further consolidated.
