On September 23rd, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong temporarily revoked the license of Cheung Hung Securities Limited's former responsible officer and director Zhang Jian for violating the "Code of Conduct" and "Sponsor Guidelines" of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong. The suspension will last for nine months, from September 17, 2024 to June 16, 2025. During the period from 2016 to 2018, Zhang Jian was the main person in charge of the sponsor and was responsible for supervising the execution of a listing application by Cheung Hung as the sponsor. The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong found that Zhang Jian failed to fulfill his duties as the main person in charge of the sponsor, responsible officer, and senior management of Cheung Hung. This was because he did not handle the relevant listing application with the appropriate skills, care, and diligence, did not diligently supervise his subordinates in carrying out Cheung Hung's sponsor work, and did not ensure that Cheung Hung maintained appropriate conduct standards. When determining the above disciplinary action, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong took into account Zhang Jian's cooperation in addressing the concerns raised by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, as well as his previous lack of disciplinary record from the Securities and Futures Commission.
