Inner Mongolia's tens of millions of kilowatt-level "Shagou Desert" new energy large base started construction, expected to be operational in 2027.

This morning, the new energy mega base in the northern part of the Kubuqi Desert in Inner Mongolia officially started construction. The mega base, known as the first comprehensive construction of a large-scale wind and solar power project in Inner Mongolia, is called "Shagu Desert". The total investment for the project is 98.8 billion yuan, with plans to build 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power and 4 million kilowatts of wind power, along with supporting 4 million kilowatts of coal power and 5 million kilowatt-hours of new energy storage. In addition, a special high-voltage power transmission line will be built to connect the base to Hebei Cangzhou, with a total length of 699 kilometers and a voltage level of 800 kilovolts.
