The vice chairman of the association, Liu Shanghai, the secretary general, Zhang Aiguo, and others exchanged views with the guests. The two sides had in-depth discussions on core issues such as the current international shipping affairs and promoting the healthy development of international shipping logistics. They also exchanged views on topics such as the U.S. maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding industry's Section 301 investigation on China. Both sides agreed that the current U.S. Section 301 investigation has brought new uncertainties and challenges to Sino-US shipping trade. Liu Shanghai stated that the China Shipowners' Association is willing to work together with the WSC to maintain an open and fair international shipping order, and promote bilateral governments to resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation. Kenneth Chia responded that the WSC attaches great importance to the potential impact of the Section 301 investigation on global supply chains, will continue to advocate for a free and stable trade environment, enhance communication and cooperation, and help promote the healthy and sustainable development of the Sino-US shipping industry.
