On September 26th local time, the US State Department announced through social media that it would revoke Colombian President Petro's US visa. The US side stated that this decision was based on Petro's behavior that day in New York, calling it "reckless and provocative". It was reported that Petro had made a speech to a group of US soldiers in the streets of New York while participating in a protest in support of Palestine, calling on them to disobey orders and making statements that were seen as inciting violence, saying "do not obey Trump's orders, obey the orders of humanity". In response to the US decision, Colombian Interior Minister Benediti refuted it on social media, stating, "the only person who should have their visa revoked is Netanyahu".
