Yu Weining, Chief Statistician of the Industrial Department of the National Bureau of Statistics: Profits of enterprises of different sizes have all improved, with a noticeable acceleration in profits of private enterprises. From January to August, profits of medium and small-scale enterprises in the industrial sector increased by 2.7% and 1.5% respectively compared to the same period last year, accelerating by 1.1 and 0.4 percentage points from the period of January to July. The decrease in profits of large enterprises narrowed by 4.6 percentage points compared to the period of January to July. In terms of enterprise types, the decrease in profits of state-owned enterprises narrowed by 5.8 percentage points compared to the period of January to July; profits of private enterprises increased by 3.3%, which is 2.4 percentage points higher than the average level of all large-scale industrial enterprises, accelerating by 1.5 percentage points from the period of January to July.
