Baidu CTO Wang Haifeng: The dawn of general artificial intelligence comes from technological generalization and comprehensive capabilities.

Baidu's Chief Technology Officer Wang Haifeng gave an on-site interpretation of large model technology and its industrial applications at the 2025 Artificial Intelligence Computing Conference on the 26th. Wang Haifeng stated that from a technical perspective, the dawn of general artificial intelligence can be understood from the generalizability and comprehensiveness of artificial intelligence technology. In terms of generalizability, large models are becoming increasingly effective in solving tasks, languages, modalities, and scenarios. In terms of comprehensiveness, understanding, generation, logic, and memory are the four basic capabilities of artificial intelligence. Other typical capabilities of artificial intelligence are essentially the integrated application of these four basic capabilities. The stronger these four capabilities are, the closer we get to general artificial intelligence.
