The UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders announced on September 25th that the car production in the UK hit its lowest level for the same period since 1956 in August, with weak demand in overseas markets and tariff barriers being the main reasons. The data shows that the total car production in the UK in that month is around 38,700 units, a decrease of 18.2% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the production of cars is about 37,000 units, a decrease of 10.2% year-on-year; the production of commercial vehicles is only 1,621 units, a sharp drop of 73.2% compared to the same period last year.
