On September 25 local time, Meta announced that it will enable "teen accounts" for Facebook and Messenger's teenage users worldwide, following the official launch of the feature in major English-speaking countries several months ago. The American company stated in a blog post, "We have enabled teen accounts for hundreds of millions of teenagers on Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger platforms, and will now expand this feature to teenage users on the global Facebook and Messenger platforms." Meta's teen accounts feature stricter security settings, content restrictions, and parental controls, targeting users aged 13 to 17, first introduced on Instagram last year. In April this year, the company expanded this feature to Facebook and Messenger chat services in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
