Reporters learned from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the team of researcher Ni Xijun reanalyzed a fossilized human skull unearthed in China about 1 million years ago, revealing a new evolutionary branch closely related to the mysterious ancient human "Denisovans" called "Long people." They also significantly advanced the divergence time between modern humans, Neanderthals, and this ancient Asian human lineage, far beyond the previous consensus in the academic community. The related research findings were published in the international academic journal "Science" on September 26, Beijing time.
