Li Qiang meets with President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades.

On September 25th local time, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades in New York. Li Keqiang expressed that although China and Cyprus are far apart geographically, the friendly exchanges between the two countries have a long history. Next year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cyprus and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of a strategic partnership. This presents a new opportunity for further deepening and developing cooperation between the two countries. China is willing to promote traditional friendship with Cyprus, enhance high-level exchanges, uphold mutual respect and trust, and promote openness and cooperation in order to continuously elevate China-Cyprus relations to new heights, achieve more practical results, and bring more benefits to the people of both countries.
