According to the Zhitong Finance APP, on Thursday, some popular Chinese concept stocks rose, with Xpeng Motors (XPEV.US) up over 7%, Nio (NIO.US) and Kingsoft Cloud (KC.US) up over 5%, and JD.com (JD.US) and Li Auto (LI.US) up over 2%. On the news front, the Hang Seng Tech Index rose nearly 1% intraday on Thursday, on track to achieve its eighth consecutive week of gains, potentially setting a new record for the longest consecutive increase since its establishment. Vey-Sern Ling, Managing Director of Union Bancaire Privee, said: "Positive sentiment towards AI is undoubtedly one of the driving factors, as Alibaba's announcement yesterday to increase capital expenditure has brought positive sentiment to the entire technology sector."
