The German Consumer Confidence Index saw a slight recovery in October, but the overall level remains low. The latest survey released by the German market research institute GfK and the Nuremberg-based market decision research institute on the 25th of the local time showed a small increase in the German consumer confidence index in October after three consecutive months of decline. However, experts emphasize that it is still difficult to determine whether this change signifies a reversal of long-term trends. Data shows that the consumer confidence index for October increased by 1.2 points from the previous month to -22.3 points. Analysts believe that significantly improved income expectations are the main reason for the increase in the index. However, people remain cautious in terms of large spending and their outlook on future economic prospects continues to weaken. Rolf Brkle, a consumer research expert at the Nuremberg-based market decision research institute, said that while the downward trend in consumer confidence has temporarily come to a halt, the overall level remains low, and there is still uncertainty about whether a trend reversal has occurred.
