Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) signs a memorandum of cooperation to promote the development of the carbon market in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau.

On September 23, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Guangzhou Carbon Emissions Trading Center, Shenzhen Green Exchange, and Macao International Carbon Emissions Trading Center. According to the memorandum of cooperation, the four exchanges will explore opportunities for cooperation in the carbon market and green finance fields, promote experience sharing and knowledge sharing, enhance the professional capabilities of relevant institutions and personnel in carbon market operations, green finance, and promote the deepening development of regional carbon markets.
