Industry insiders: OpenAI collaborating with Oracle and NVIDIA to form a commercial ecosystem.
Nvidia plans to invest $100 billion in OpenAI and co-build data centers with a capacity of at least 10 gigawatts. According to sources, Nvidia will invest in OpenAI by acquiring non-voting shares, allowing OpenAI to purchase Nvidia chips with the funds. Andrew Kitson, director of the technology sector at BMI under Fitch Solutions, stated that Nvidia's $100 billion investment is not only a financial one, but also a leverage that makes Nvidia both a hardware supplier for OpenAI and a potential source of future financing. OpenAI has struggled to become a fully profitable institution, and cooperation with Nvidia provides long-term financial security. Additionally, OpenAI previously signed a cloud computing agreement with Oracle to purchase a large amount of computing power, and as a provider of infrastructure, Oracle needs to buy a significant amount of GPU hardware from Nvidia to build data centers. Analysts believe that the three companies will form a new cooperation model: OpenAI buys cloud services from Oracle, Oracle buys GPU from Nvidia, and Nvidia continues to invest in OpenAI. Several experts from technology consulting firms pointed out that while this cooperation forms a closed loop in the AI supply chain of "chips-infrastructure-model", it will not change the trend of diversified development in the computing power market.
