CDEEP: The national electrification rate is expected to reach around 35% by 2030.

A report released by the China Electricity Council on September 24th showed that during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the national electrification rate is expected to steadily increase at an average annual growth rate of about 1 percentage point, reaching around 35% by 2030. This "China Electrification Annual Development Report 2025" compiled by the China Electricity Council was officially released at the 2025 New Power System Development Forum held during this period. The report indicated that in 2024, the electrification rate in China was about 28.8%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points compared to the previous year, and China's electrification rate is already higher than that of the major economies in Europe and America.
