Alibaba releases Qwen3-Max, surpassing GPT5 in performance and ranking among the top three globally.

At the 2025 Yunqi Conference, Alibaba announced the release of its flagship model Qwen3-Max, which outperforms GPT5, Claude Opus 4, and other models, ranking among the top three globally. Qwen3-Max includes two versions: instruction and reasoning. Its preview version ranked third on the Chatbot Arena leaderboard, and the official version is expected to achieve another breakthrough in performance. Qwen3-Max is the largest and most powerful basic model in the Tongyi Qianwen family. The model has a pre-training data volume of 36T tokens, total parameters exceeding trillions, and possesses strong coding programming capabilities and agent tool invocation capabilities.
