New national standards for household refrigeration appliances such as refrigerators have been released.

The State Administration for Market Regulation has approved the release of the new version of "Household and Similar Use Refrigerating Appliances," as well as three national standards including "Household and Similar Use Refrigerating Appliances - Part 1: General Requirements," which will officially take effect on June 1, 2026. The implementation of these four national standards provides important guidelines for the research, design, production, and inspection of household refrigerating appliances such as refrigerators in China, helping to promote industry technological innovation and product quality upgrades, and promoting the healthy and standardized development of the industry. The newly formulated national standards, including "Household and Similar Use Refrigerating Appliances - Part 1: General Requirements," are aligned with international standards and address core indicators of consumer concern such as storage temperature, freezing capacity, power consumption, and volume for refrigerating appliances, clearly defining unified technical requirements, testing, and evaluation methods.
