On September 22nd, the 22nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Conference on Infectious Disease Prevention and Control was held in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The meeting deepened exchanges on the status of key infectious diseases in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, seasonal influenza and other vaccine-preventable diseases prevention and control work, the current situation and prevention and control of chikungunya and dengue fever, infection control and antimicrobial resistance in medical institutions, and monitoring, and other topics. The three regions agreed to strengthen cooperation in infectious disease prevention and control, response to public health emergencies, emergency system construction for major infectious diseases, infectious disease research, vaccine effectiveness evaluation, optimization of epidemic information reporting mechanisms, risk assessment, joint emergency drills, personnel training, and other aspects in order to better safeguard public health security and the well-being of the public in the three regions.
