Energy prices rising, German residents' heating costs greatly increase this year.
According to the latest "2025 Heating Cost Report" jointly released by the German consulting firm co2online and the German Tenants' Association on the 23rd local time, it is expected that the heating expenses for German residents in 2025 will increase significantly due to the double impact of rising energy prices and the cold winter at the beginning of this year. The data shows that the average annual heating costs for a 70-square-meter apartment using natural gas will increase by about 15%, reaching 1180 euros; households using district heating are expected to increase by 2% to 1245 euros; the cost of oil heating is expected to increase by 3% to 1055 euros. Families using wood pellet heating will also face an increase of about 20%, while the cost for heat pumps is expected to increase by 5%.
