Today, at the 2025 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference press conference, Xing Fansheng, director of the Comprehensive Division of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Transport, stated that the Ministry of Transport is vigorously promoting the "artificial intelligence + transportation" initiative. The first step is to promptly introduce the "Implementation Opinions on Artificial Intelligence + Transportation", which will soon be released and implemented. Secondly, to organize the construction of a comprehensive transportation model and accelerate the popularization of intelligent transportation applications. The third step is to adopt a "technology + engineering" model, focusing on typical applications such as automated driving of heavy trucks on major transportation corridors, autonomous formation navigation of inland cargo ships, intelligent management and control of major road disasters, free flow toll collection on highways, and high-speed maglev systems, to promote the implementation of a number of innovative projects. The fourth step is to plan to carry out the "Ten Hundred Thousand" innovation initiative for artificial intelligence + transportation, and increase the density of pilot demonstrations.
