Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, said in an interview with the Times of India that he hopes US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi can reach an agreement. When asked about the recent announcements made by the Trump administration, Dimon said he will communicate with stakeholders and policymakers about the H-1B visa issue. He described the announcement as "unexpected". Dimon believes that tariffs have a moderate inflation effect. He added that tariffs would cause some level of economic downturn under certain conditions. He considers himself a supporter of free trade, but when it comes to national security issues, it is a different matter. He is optimistic about the Indian economy and believes that the country's reforms are "very impressive".
