JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon hopes that Trump and Modi can reach a consensus on a trade agreement.
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, said in an interview with the Times of India that he hopes US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi can reach an agreement. When asked about recent announcements by the Trump administration, Dimon said he will communicate with stakeholders and policymakers on the issue of H-1B visas, calling the announcement "unexpected." He believes that tariffs have a mild inflation effect and can lead to economic downturn under certain circumstances. Dimon considers himself a proponent of free trade, but when it comes to national security issues, it's a different story. He is optimistic about the Indian economy and described the reforms in the country as "excellent."
