ETHZilla (NASDAQ stock code: ETHZ) announced a collaboration with existing convertible bond investors to raise an additional $3.5 billion through the issuance of new convertible bonds. The new bonds will have an annual interest rate of 2%. ETHZilla will receive excess interest income of approximately $500 million from the total interest-bearing securities portfolio. ETHZilla will continue to actively deploy capital in the Ethereum ecosystem, in addition to holding ETH, the company also generates cash flow by deploying cash balances into Layer 2 protocols, investing in US Treasury bonds and commercial paper, and exploring the tokenization of real-world assets. As of September 19, 2025, ETHZilla holds a total of 102,264 ETH and ETH equivalents worth approximately $462 million.

As of September 21st, 2025, it holds 639,835 BTC purchased at an average price of about $73,971 per Bitcoin for a total cost of approximately $473.3 billion.

Japanese listed company Metaplanet purchased approximately 5,419 BTC for around $632.5 million, with an average price of $116,724 per BTC. As of 2025, the BTC return rate has reached 395.1%. As of September 22, the company holds a total of 25,555 BTC with a cumulative purchase amount of around $2.71 billion and an average cost of approximately $106,065 per BTC.

Strategy CEO Michael Saylor said in a recent podcast interview that the recent flat trend in Bitcoin prices is a sign of strength rather than weakness. The market is not in a consolidation phase as long-term holders are selling some of their positions while institutional investors are preparing for larger allocations. The volatility is diminishing, which is a very positive sign.
