The first 6G charging project has been approved by 3GPP.

According to China Telecom, at the 109th plenary session of the 3GPP Services and System Technology Specification Group, the "6G System Billing Research" project led by China Telecom Research Institute has officially been approved. China Telecom stated that as the first 6G billing project in 3GPP, this project will focus on designing new billing models for 6G new services, including exploring new commercial models and billing dimensions for 6G, researching the billing architecture and mechanisms for 6G across networks, services, and resources, and providing feasible billing solutions for key 6G services such as AI, Internet of Senses, and seamless integration of the virtual and physical worlds.
