Our country's first salt cavern gas storage facility has completed expansion and capacity enhancement, with a significant increase in peak load capability.
According to the China National Gas Group, the key construction project of the national natural gas storage facility, the Jintan Gas Storage Expansion Project, successfully completed a 72-hour full-load trial operation and officially entered into operation. As China's first salt cavern gas storage facility, the Jintan Gas Storage is located in the core area of the Yangtze River Delta, serving as a key "granary" for energy supply in the region. After the expansion project, the peak-shaving capacity of the gas storage facility achieved a comprehensive breakthrough: the daily gas injection capacity increased from 8.2 million cubic meters to 13.2 million cubic meters, a 60% increase; the daily gas extraction capacity for peak shaving increased significantly from 6 million cubic meters to 18 million cubic meters, doubling; the daily emergency gas extraction capacity increased from 15 million cubic meters to 27 million cubic meters, an 80% increase in emergency guarantee capacity. This move fully unleashes the peak-shaving potential of the deep salt cavern space in the Jintan Gas Storage facility, significantly enhancing the key role of the gas storage facility in ensuring natural gas supply in winter and emergency peak shaving in extreme weather.
