According to the Securities Times APP, on September 22, the person in charge of the Consumer Promotion Department of the Ministry of Commerce talked about the situation of China's consumer market in August 2025. It was introduced that in August, the overall consumer market maintained a stable operation trend. According to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the total retail sales of consumer goods in that month reached 3.97 trillion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 3.4%, which was 1.3 percentage points higher than the same period last year. From January to August, the cumulative total reached 32.39 trillion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.6%, which was 1.2 percentage points higher than the same period last year.
