Many airports in Europe are making full efforts to repair the check-in system malfunction.
After a hacker attack caused the automatic check-in system to collapse, several large airports in Europe worked around the clock on Sunday to resume normal operations. Brussels Airport continued to experience disruptions, leading airlines to cancel half of their outbound flights on Monday. On Friday, hackers targeted Collins Aerospace, the check-in and boarding system supplier owned by RTX, leading to chaos at the busiest airports in Europe including London Heathrow, Berlin, and Brussels. On Saturday, passengers faced long queues, flight cancellations, and delays. According to airport officials and data, the disruptions at Berlin and Heathrow airports have significantly eased by Sunday, but delays and flight cancellations continue. A spokesperson for Brussels Airport said that Collins Aerospace has not yet delivered the security updates required to fully restore the system, which is why the airport decided to cancel some flights on Monday.
