The book "Excerpts of Xi Jinping's Discourse on Civil Affairs Work" edited by the Party History and Literature Research Institute of the CPC Central Committee was recently published by the Central Literature Publishing House and distributed nationwide. Civil affairs work is related to people's livelihood and connected to people's hearts. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has strengthened the Party's leadership in civil affairs work from a strategic and overall perspective, adhered to putting the people at the center, strengthened the construction of universal, basic, and bottom-line livelihoods, resolved the most concerning, direct, and real interests of the people, and promoted the sustainable and healthy development of civil affairs. Comrade Xi Jinping has made a series of important discourses on civil affairs work, with lofty intentions, rich content, profound thoughts, and profound clarifications on the directional, fundamental, overall, and strategic issues of civil affairs work, providing fundamental guidelines and injecting strong momentum for the high-quality development of civil affairs in the new era and new journey, and deeply significant for deepening reforms and innovations in civil affairs work, actively promoting the implementation of the national strategy for actively coping with population aging, enhancing the level of social assistance, social welfare, social affairs, and social governance work, actively making good deeds, handling practical matters, and resolving difficulties for the people, and making a necessary contribution to the comprehensive promotion of the modernization with Chinese characteristics, the construction of a strong country, and the great rejuvenation of the nation. The "Excerpts of Discourse" are divided into 6 topics, with a total of 224 excerpts taken from over 160 important documents including reports, speeches, instructions, and comments made by Comrade Xi Jinping from November 2012 to July 2025, some of which are being publicly released for the first time.
