At NIO Day 2025, NIO founder, chairman, and CEO Li Bin, along with NIO co-founder and president Qin Lihong, held a dialogue with the media. Li Bin mentioned that nearly 150,000 people have test-driven the all-new NIO ES8 in the past 10 days. He also mentioned that NIO's partners have been working overtime, and this year's production capacity has exceeded 40,000 vehicles, which is very challenging. "We may be able to deliver a bit more than 40,000 vehicles by the end of the year, but not significantly more," he said. He bluntly stated that NIO will not disclose specific order numbers, as some have pointed out that customers have turned large orders into marketing, creating a mismatch between production and sales. He only revealed that the locking-in of orders for the all-new NIO ES8 is better than expected.
