The first 15-meter-caliber submillimeter wave telescope in our country has started construction.
Today, at the Xueshan Ranch in Delingha City, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, the first domestically developed 15-meter aperture submillimeter-wave telescope in China was officially launched for construction. The telescope is led by the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with its 15-meter aperture high-precision antenna panel capable of supporting high-frequency submillimeter-wave observations. It is equipped with advanced scientific instruments such as a wide field multi-color camera, three-band superheterodyne receiver, and 460GHz multi-beam receiver, supporting wide-band, wide-field, and high-sensitivity observations.
