The Supreme Court has not taken immediate action on Trump's firing of Cook's application.
Chief Justice John Roberts has requested that Federal Reserve Board member Lisa Cook respond to President Donald Trump's request to dismiss her immediately by September 25th, but has not yet taken action on Trump's request. Since Trump announced at the end of August that he would dismiss Lisa Cook on grounds of mortgage fraud, Cook remains in office, and she herself has denied the allegations. Previously, a court ruled that Trump's dismissal of Cook was illegal and prohibited the Federal Reserve from carrying out the dismissal decision. The Supreme Court is currently considering the government's application to overturn this court ruling.
