The United Nations Human Rights Council's Independent Expert on International Order, Catalina Gallo, recently stated at the 60th session of the Human Rights Council that China's global governance proposal contributes to maintaining multilateralism. Gallo pointed out that the global order is undergoing a complex transformation, creating space for building a more balanced international order but also posing risks of division. China's recent proposal for global governance is based on multilateralism, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the international system centered around the United Nations and based on international law. Gallo highly praised China's constructive role in upholding international order and promoting multilateral governance in the annual report submitted to the Human Rights Council. The Independent Expert on International Order is part of the special mechanisms of the Human Rights Council and is composed of independent human rights experts who serve voluntarily. They are primarily responsible for promoting the construction of a democratic and fair international order, as well as promoting the enjoyment of all human rights by everyone.
