The Chinese financial APP has learned that the UK government's borrowing in August exceeded expectations, dealing a blow to Finance Minister Rachel Reeves as she prepares for the challenging autumn budget. The UK Office for National Statistics announced on Friday that the budget deficit in August reached 18 billion (approximately $24.4 billion USD). This deficit far exceeds the predicted 12.5 billion by the UK Office for Budget Responsibility, and also sets a five-year record for borrowing during the same period.
