Xiaomi recalls over 110,000 SU7 standard versions, suspected to include the model involved in a previous high-speed accident that resulted in 3 fatalities.
On September 19th, the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation announced that Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. is recalling a total of 116,887 SU7 standard electric vehicles produced from February 6, 2024 to August 30, 2025. It was noted that this is the second recall of this model due to product quality defects. On March 29, 2025, a Xiaomi SU7 standard version vehicle was involved in a traffic accident after activating the L2 intelligent driving assistance system, resulting in the death of three women on the spot. According to the purchase date, the vehicles involved in the incident are suspected to be within the scope of this recall. In response, Xiaomi Automobile staff stated that this recall is for remote upgrades, and owners can upgrade according to the prompts on the vehicle, without needing to visit a store. It is unclear whether this recall is related to the previous high-speed collision and explosion accident.
