Yesterday, Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical released its independently developed 60K large tow carbon fiber in Shanghai. This product is the first of its kind in China and effectively fills the domestic industry gap, with performance reaching international leading levels. With this release, Shanghai now has the production capacity for nearly 20 different types of carbon fiber products with different tow specifications, including 24K, 48K, and 60K, making the carbon fiber industry chain self-controlled. Carbon fiber is widely used in wind energy, solar energy, high-speed rail, aircraft components, and other fields. In the past, China's carbon fiber development has mainly focused on small tow carbon fibers. Shanghai Petrochemical successfully broke through the technical difficulties of industrial preparation technology for single nozzles with a capacity of 60K or more, completed the entire process of preparing 60K large tow carbon fiber from raw silk to oxidation and carbonization, and realized industrial trial production, becoming the first enterprise in China to produce 60K large tow carbon fiber.
