Shanghai's first 60K large tow carbon fiber

Yesterday, Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical in Shanghai released the independently developed 60K large tow carbon fiber, which is a domestic first, effectively filling the domestic industry gap, with performance reaching the international leading level. As a result, Shanghai now has the production capacity of nearly 20 different specifications of carbon fiber products including 24K, 48K, 60K, and others, achieving independent and controllable carbon fiber industry chain. Carbon fiber is widely used in wind power, solar energy, high-speed trains, aircraft components, and other fields. Historically, China's carbon fiber development has mainly focused on small tow carbon fiber. Shanghai Petrochemical successfully broke through the technical difficulties in industrial preparation of single nozzle with capacity above 60K, completed the whole process from tow preparation to oxidation and carbonization of 60K large tow carbon fiber, achieved industrial trial production, and became the first domestic enterprise capable of producing 60K large tow carbon fiber.
