Trump accuses the media of "one-sided" criticism against him and threatens to revoke licenses.
Local time on Thursday, after the American Broadcasting Company decided to suspend its late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel, President Trump stated that media networks should not be allowed to engage in "one-sided criticism" of him. President Trump concluded his two-day visit to the UK and was asked about the indefinite suspension of Kimmel's late-night show on his way back on Air Force One. "97% of their coverage is negative towards me, only giving me negative news. You know, they have licenses," he continued, "I think maybe their licenses should be revoked." Trump said that ultimately, this decision should be made by Brendan Carr, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, and praised Carr as a "patriot" and a "tough guy." "Listen, this should be part of the discussion when it comes to licensing review. If a late-night show under a media network is constantly doing one thing all day attacking Trump, that's not acceptable," Trump said. "Some say these shows haven't invited conservative guests for years, you can go fact-check that. The reality is, all their content is aimed at me."
