The yield on 10-30 year UK gilts increased by at least 5 basis points on the Bank of England decision day.

On Thursday, during the European market close, the yield on UK 10-year government bonds rose by 5.1 basis points, hitting a daily high of 4.676%. At 19:00 Beijing time, after the Bank of England announced no change, it dropped to 4.610% to hit a daily low, followed by a short-lived uptrend lasting less than two hours. The yield on 2-year UK bonds rose by 0.2 basis points to 3.961%, rising to 3.979% by 19:00 to hit a daily high, before quickly dropping back to 3.930% and hitting a daily low at 19:24, with most of the trading throughout the day occurring in the range of 3.950%-3.970%. The yield on 30-year UK bonds rose by 7.8 basis points to hit a daily high of 5.508%, while the yield on 50-year UK bonds rose by 6.8 basis points to 4.897%. The yield spread between 2-year and 10-year UK bonds widened by 4.804 basis points to +71.345 basis points.
