Major stock indices in Europe closed higher.

The European Stoxx 600 index rose by 0.8%, the French CAC 40 index rose by 0.9%, the Spanish IBEX index rose by 0.3%, and the European Stoxx index rose by 1.2%; the Eurozone blue chip index rose by 1.6%, the UK FTSE 100 index rose by 0.3%; the German DAX index rose by 1.3%.
