The price at which Nvidia acquired common stock from Intel was higher than that approved by the US government.

NVIDIA announced on Thursday that it will spend $5 billion to acquire ordinary shares of Intel at a price of $23.28 per share, slightly lower than Intel's closing price of $24.90 per share on Wednesday. However, this is higher than the price the US government paid last month to acquire 10% of Intel's shares at $20.47 per share. NVIDIA will become one of Intel's largest shareholders, and after issuing new shares to complete the transaction, NVIDIA may own 4% or more of Intel's shares.
