Ministry of Science and Technology: The current reserve of resources in 31 countries is steadily increasing.

The State Council Information Office held a press conference this afternoon on the theme of "high-quality completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan". The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Science and Technology introduced the construction of the science and technology basic condition platform during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China continued to promote the construction of research infrastructure and condition platforms, systematically deploying the construction of the National Science Data Center, the National Biological Germplasm and Experimental Materials Resource Library, and the National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station. Currently, a relatively complete facility platform system has been formed, providing strong support for the smooth implementation of major scientific research tasks and engineering construction in China. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, efforts have been focused on strengthening data coordination and service capacity building, promoting the integration and open sharing of scientific data. The total data volume of 20 national science data centers exceeds 270PB, a five-fold increase from the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan. The existing 31 national repositories have steadily increased their holdings, with over 5.5 million preserved samples of plant and animal germplasm, more than 600,000 microbial strains, and 39 million specimens in various categories. Among them, the total preserved quantities of microbial resources, crop germplasm resources, and livestock and poultry germplasm resources are among the best in the world. China actively promotes the open sharing of research instruments, and currently, over 147,000 research instruments with a unit price exceeding 500,000 RMB have been included in the national network management platform, open for sharing to the whole society.
