The China Geological Survey and the Mongolia Geological Survey signed a memorandum of understanding on geological cooperation.

On September 11, during the 2025 Mongolia Mining Week and Mining Expo held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Xu Xueyi, deputy director of the China Geological Survey, and Namslai Munkhbayar, director of the Mongolian Geological Survey, signed a memorandum of understanding on geological cooperation. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Shen Minjuan, Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia, and Dambii Dundiiyam, Minister of Industry and Mining Resources of Mongolia. According to the framework of the new round of the Sino-Mongolian memorandum of understanding on geological cooperation, the two geological survey agencies will strengthen communication and cooperation in geological mapping, geochemical surveys, comparative studies of mineralization backgrounds, and comparative studies of Holocene stratigraphy in the border areas between China and Mongolia. They will jointly carry out a number of cross-border regional geological survey research, deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of geological parks, enhance joint talent cultivation, and jointly promote the deepening of cooperation in the geological and mining fields between the two countries to serve the high-quality economic development of both countries. Officials from the China Mining Association, the Mongolian National Mining Association, relevant departments and agencies of the China Geological Survey also participated in the signing ceremony.
