China and ASEAN countries launch joint innovation action for the application of meteorological AI models.

On September 17, the 4th China-ASEAN Meteorological Cooperation Forum with the theme of "Empowering Meteorological Cooperation with Intelligent Technology for Early Warning and Benefiting People's Livelihoods" opened in Nanning, Guangxi. Representatives from meteorological and hydrological departments of China and ASEAN countries, the World Meteorological Organization, relevant universities, and enterprises gathered to discuss regional meteorological cooperation and development. During the forum, representatives from China and ASEAN countries jointly launched the China-ASEAN Meteorological AI Model Application Joint Innovation Action. It is understood that this joint innovation action focuses on four aspects: joint innovation, data integration, talent cultivation, and creating a shared home together, aiming to promote the digital transformation and development of meteorology in China and ASEAN countries. All parties will establish a "China-ASEAN Meteorological Home" for joint construction, sharing, and use, creating a cooperation platform integrating "physical space" for face-to-face discussions and exchanges and "digital space" for end-to-end open integration, building a regional meteorological disaster warning network to support regional sustainable development.
