In August, non-banking financial institutions in Shanghai saw an increase of 278 billion yuan in deposits, a year-on-year increase of 285.8 billion yuan.

The Shanghai headquarters of the central bank released the operating situation of Shanghai's monetary credit in August 2025, in which, in August, Renminbi deposits increased by 392.3 billion yuan, 296 billion yuan more than the same period last year. Among them, household deposits increased by 7.9 billion yuan, 36.9 billion yuan less than the same period last year; non-financial corporate deposits increased by 94.8 billion yuan, 17.2 billion yuan more than the same period last year; fiscal deposits decreased by 44 billion yuan, 27.7 billion yuan less than the same period last year; deposits from non-banking financial institutions increased by 278 billion yuan, 285.8 billion yuan more than the same period last year. Foreign currency deposits increased by 2.3 billion US dollars, 1.9 billion US dollars less than the same period last year.
